Though Southern California is my home turf I grow tired of the sun and the pounding surf When the Santa Ana winds begin to blow All I want is snow I'd like to spend winter on the upper peninsula Of Michigan that'd suit me just fine On Mount Ranier it would be so clear I'm in a holiday state of mind Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow The Green Mountains of Vermont when they're covered white Would be such a beautiful sight Or Duluth, Minnesota sitting by the fire On a moonlit winter's night Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow You know I love the sunshine And feeling in my toes But when the holiday season rolls around All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow Let it snow - All I want is snow All I want All I want One foot, two feet, three feet, four feet more I'm dreaming of a Nor'Easter

It's Christmas time in my little town The snowflakes fill the air and gently cover the ground A neighbor waves, a stranger says hello The holiday spirit flows from everyone you know Tired hearts are on the mend Mom and Dad are feeling young again If we could hold on to this joy It would be Christmas without end Old Saint Nick has done it again Around the tree, your loved ones gather with you There's a little Christmas joy in everything you do Tired hearts are on the mend Mom and Dad are feeling young again If we could hold on to this joy It would be Christmas without end Old Saint Nick has done it again Help us holy light Take us through the darkest nights Santa Claus is coming to town And Santa's just another word for love A gift from the grace of the Lord up above So spread that Christmas spirit around Tired hearts are on the mend Mom and Dad are feeling young again If we could hold on to this joy It would be Christmas without end Old Saint Nick has done it again We're waiting for the day It will be Christmas without end Old Saint Nick has done it again

Jingle Bells 03:33
Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits bright What fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride And soon Miss Fanny Bright, yeah, she's seated by my side Now the horse was rigged to go, and down the lane we sped He ran into a drifted bank and bumped us from the sled Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Now the ground is white, so go it while you're young And take the girls tonight, and sing this sleighing song Just get a bobtailed bay, two-forty for his speed Then hitch him to an open sleigh, and crack, you'll take the lead Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh

Sleep, baby, sleep - Oooooh Sleep, baby, sleep - Oooooh Hot desert sun Fades in the western sky Cold desert wind Cradles the woman with child No place to lay their heads tonight In the dark of the town Inside a stable plain Upon the hay In this most humble way The world was graced with a blessed new life Sleep, baby, sleep - Oooooh You still have time to save the world So sleep, baby, sleep Hot desert sun Fades in the western sky Cold desert wind Cradles the woman with child No place to lay their heads tonight In the dark of the town Inside a stable plain Upon the hay In this most humble way The world was graced with a blessed new life The light of the world The savior of all Was once just an infant Fragile and small And his precious eyes As they struggled to see Reflected mankind's own humanity Sleep, baby, sleep - Oooooh

about

This is CRUST’s undisputedly most beloved album. Although our memories of recording these songs are still crystal clear, the reasons why we chose a Christmas theme for our second release are a bit hazy now. Could it have been an antidote to our floundering attempts at a new musical direction after Circus of Evil? Perhaps it was the hope of speeding up the creative process after laboring for seven years on Circus. A bid for mass appeal? Maybe it was a desire to revisit my orphaned 1996 demos for “Old St. Nick's Done It Again” and “Sleep Baby Sleep.” Or maybe it was just because we all love the Christmas season and the music that accompanies it.

Whatever the reason, this project re-energized the band as recording sessions started on St. Patrick’s Day 2001. We performed most of the basic tracks live, rekindling the enthusiasm and joy that had often eluded us during the previous years of piecemeal tracking. Recording was completed in the fall of 2003 with Rich’s inspired last-minute addition of “Christmastime Is Here.” Positively light speed for CRUST!

Although the reaction to the album from family and friends was fantastic, technical limitations left us never fully satisfied with the final mixes. After some good-natured prodding from Eric -- who had since upgraded his Pro Tools rig and honed his production skills working on Eclectic Shadyland -- we agreed to revisit the original tapes. We cleaned up a few of the rough edges on some songs, added a few new instrumental flourishes and vocal parts to others, and Eric's fresh, new mixes made everything sparkle anew. For the final piece of the puzzle, we recorded “All I Want Is Snow,” a song planned for the original album but omitted due to our release schedule. (Another planned-but-never-recorded song “No Clowns For Christmas” partially survives as the spoken intro to “Holly Jolly Christmas.”)

If you’ve been enjoying A Very CRUSTy Christmas for the past 18 years then we hope you will now enjoy it even more. If you’re new to the album we hope it will brighten many, many holiday seasons to come.

Peace on Earth and goodwill toward men. DP – 2021

about

CRUST New Jersey

Four college bandmates with solid mediocre musicianship and unstoppable creative drive. E minor power anthems? Heck, yeah. Wizards, demons and circus freaks? Of course. Meandering, brain-numbing jams. All day long. Sappy power ballads? Child's play. High-quality, 64-bit digital recording and modern mastering? Not a chance. Fun? It's the bedrock of everything CRUST does. ... more
