Cinderblock 03:13
Hey kid were you born to rock? Living tie-dyed, brain-fried, dazed and shocked Smash your head against the wall Saying kiss-off, piss-off, to hell with it all Nothing they do seems to get through You’re like a cinderblock Hey punk what’s it all about Do you care if they stare when you strut and pout What will remain will when you leave this place? Feeling no love in your goal of reaching second base Nothing they say stands in your way You’re like a cinderblock You’re telling me, you don’t wanna be The lowest common denominator You say you love her? Then why you acting like you hate her? Can’t you see you’ve turned you life into a mess? How can you sleep when the alarm clock's screaming? You better smell the coffee now and wake up. Life ain’t no circus, so take off that clown make up What lies behind those eyes is anyone’s guess Seems it’s the new religion more or less Sure kid, I’m a stupid fool It’s not the same kind of game as when I was in school You can explain to me all the things that you do And in the end I’ll pretend I was not like you Don’t want to hear your side or wound my stubborn pride I’m like a cinderblock

Sunshine 03:30
At first, we thought she’d sing her old familiar song Then the rains came down and proved that we were wrong When the water rose we knew we’d have to start again Dear Mother Nature will you ever make amends? Hey! We need a little sunshine Bask in rays of better days when everything was fine Hey! We could use a little moonlight A slower pace, some quiet space to help us through the night Once, you were full of hope and full of grace Then, the real world wiped that smile right from your face Didn’t Mama tell you life will sometimes treat you rough? It’s time to raise our heads upright and say “enough!” Hey! We deserve a little sunshine Bask in rays of better days when everything was fine Hey! We could use a little moonlight A slower pace, some quiet space to help us through the night We can’t change this world through hope alone We must roll up our sleeves I dreamt I heard a billion voices sing as one, The time is now, we won’t delay Rain, rain go away! Hey! We deserve a little sunshine Bask in rays of better days when everything was fine Hey! We could use a little moonlight A slower pace, some quiet space to help us through the night

Back in 2006 in the basement of Richie’s house, Doug played a righteous riff and the band just grooved on out The song had no lyrics then so Eric quickly grabbed the mic He improvised a melody we liked and then he belted out the title line Two years had flown on by before Dougie brought some words to town A gripping tale of suburban angst that the band gave three thumbs down Rich took a shot with a story ‘bout a B-film star's decline The idea sounded groovy at first but the stars would not align Working out a theme It's harder than it seems It makes us want to scream! We pour ourselves into all that we do but No matter how hard we try We beg and plead for divine intervention But there's no help from on high We get ideas we all think might have wings but Somehow they don't seem to fly It's just no use trying to force inspiration Our Muse just passes us by No matter how hard we try In twenty-ten Doug tried again with an ode to a Superman Davey really liked the idea but Rich and Eric tossed it in the can So Davey scribbled down some words about this tune's painful birth And that's how we got this tune you're hearing Take it for what it's worth. Working out a theme It's harder than it seems It makes us want to scream! We pour ourselves into all that we do but No matter how hard we try We beg and plead for divine intervention But there's no help from on high We get ideas we all think might have wings but Somehow they don't seem to fly It's just no use trying to force inspiration Our Muse just passes us by

This is a scary place, I find myself in Don’t know which way to go. When you jump in the water, you either sink or swim Not much between, Lord knows Or you can stay there standing on dry land Not much livin’ in that You can think about it all the time But sooner or later you gotta act Stand or jump, what’s it gonna be? Stand or jump Well I dipped in my toe, the water was cold Got goosebumps on my skin Then I felt a little nudge, and then I lost my hold And she just pulled me in. Under water and over my head Feelin’ dizzy but feelin’ good We came up both a smilin’ Shoulda known that we would We didn’t stand or jump, just fell in don’t ya see We didn’t stand or jump! We didn’t stand or jump, just fell in don’t ya see We didn’t stand or jump!

Sarah 02:59
She blew into town with her track suit on A sexy mama fresh on the scene A straight-talkin’ savior with a loaded gun She shot my heart and now I’m down on my knees I’m like a dog with a bone And now I’m takin’ her home You’ve screwed up one too many times Yeah Sarah! Sarah you’re a friend of mine! They bought her a $100,000 smile And she’s stealin’ hearts across the land A G-droppin’, eye-poppin’ breath of fresh air She's workin’ on her master plan I’m like a dog with a bone And everybody’s takin’ her home! You’ve screwed up one too many times Yeah Sarah! Sarah you’re a friend of mine! I’ve never been into this kinda crazy thing before You got me crossing the line as your partner in crime And I don’t know who I am anymore She came back to town with a sharp suit on A strange glimmer in her eye She may be out, but you know she ain’t down She's gearing up for another try. She’d like a dog with a bone Can’t get her out of my home You’ve screwed up one too many times Yeah Sarah! Sarah you’re a friend of mine!

Hello baby What’s your sign? Why don’t you come a little closer And I’ll show you mine I can’t fight this feelin’, my mind is a-screamin’ You know that I want you You’re lookin’ delicious, and oh so nutritious My body it needs you I can’t – stop – this craving One little nibble is all that I need We’ll share the power of this nocturnal hour Give in and I will set you free Now come on back, baby Where you gotta go? Look into these eyes You can’t resist me, I know Dismiss your frustration, give in to temptation One taste and you’ll feel good Embrace this new past time, it won’t be your last time It’s super, it’s natural You can’t – stop – this cravin’ The hunger’s building now you know what you need Let’s share the power of this nocturnal hour Join me in immortality You can’t – stop – this cravin’ The hunger’s building now you know what you need Let’s share the power of this nocturnal hour Join me in immortality Hey baby, let's split This place is dead You hungry? How 'bout we go and get a bite? After that, maybe we head on back to my pad for a nightcap You know, if I'm not in bed before dawn, I just fall apart.

It’s always been my dream To make my home in the country Beneath these wide open skies Fall asleep at night To the sound of the cricket chorus Letting my cares pass me by They dug up the fields today They’re building a mini mall Here come the coffee chains I’m watching the tall oaks fall It's still so real in my mind A life of peace in the country Watching the clouds roll on by Now it's hard to sleep at night With the future so uncertain Was my dream just a lie? They dug up the fields today They’re building a mini mall Here come the coffee chains I’m watching the tall oaks fall And the fast food wrappers will come blowing in Rolling ‘cross the prairie like tumbleweeds Dollar store consumerism heroin Pushing plastic junk that nobody needs It’s time to gather some things In my little home in the country I’ve wiped the tears from my eyes Making a couple of plans Reinventing the future Someone somewhere has to try They dug up the fields today They’re building a mini mall Here come the coffee chains I’m watching the tall oaks fall And the fast food wrappers will come blowing in Rolling ‘cross the prairie like tumbleweeds Dollar store consumerism heroin Pushing plastic junk that nobody needs Then the rootless lemmings with their power ties Choking off the blood flow to their brains Will build a society condo-sized Along a flowing river of highway lanes That lead to fields of department stores Drowning out the stars with fluorescent light. Happiness imported from a distant shore Farewell fools, goodbye, God bless, goodnight Farewell fools, goodbye, God bless, goodnight Farewell fools, goodbye, God bless, goodnight

Way Down 04:25
I’m a way down low, feelin’ near the end Can’t stop or go, can’t just pretend My candle‘s burning at both ends I’m a way down low, feelin’ near the end Can’t stop or go, can’t just pretend My candle‘s burning at both ends I gotta put it out! Keeps a rainin’ down, nowhere to hide Can’t find the light, God knows I’ve tried Feels like I’ve nothing left inside Somebody help me out! Deeper than I’ve ever been Can’t escape this pool of sin Crushed beneath this weight I bear Let it go, please take me there Take me there! Can’t run no more, can’t escape the past Tied down to the tracks, train’s a comin’ fast Looks like the end is here at last I guess I’m checkin’ out!

Altar candles burning, dim in the night Stained glass windows painted black Listening in silence, sits Father McWhite To confessions of Jeremy Wylack Pardon me dear Father, did you hear that sound? Said Jeremy to the quiet priest Occasionally you’ll hear strange noises resound Coming from the rafters to the east It’s just bats in the belfry, nothing more Bats in the belfry It’s just bats in the belfry, nothing more Bats in the belfry

Criswell 05:42
A magic kit at six touched a place within his soul His cape became his mark when he was ten He spoke in revelations when he was twelve years old He thrived on the applause even then Criswell - Clairvoyant of the night Criswell - Between the darkness and the light Criswell - What does the future hold? Criswell - Your story must be told On late night TV he kept the crowds in awe With shocking future visions bold and brave In truth the man was driven by the dollar signs he saw And only Ed would give the fame he craved Criswell - Clairvoyant of the night Criswell - Between the darkness and the light Criswell - What does the future hold? Criswell - Your story must be told Ed and Cris were visionaries, martyrs for their art Remembered for their timeless work Plan 9 Criswell sank into the mire of nudie horror parts And sealed his fate as legend for all time

about

CRUST New Jersey

Four college bandmates with solid mediocre musicianship and unstoppable creative drive. E minor power anthems? Heck, yeah. Wizards, demons and circus freaks? Of course. Meandering, brain-numbing jams. All day long. Sappy power ballads? Child's play. High-quality, 64-bit digital recording and modern mastering? Not a chance. Fun? It's the bedrock of everything CRUST does. ... more
